BARBARA KELLER — DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES BIG GAME PROGRAM LEADERBarb Keller holds a B.S. in Natural Resource Management from Northland College, a Master of Science in Wildlife Science from New Mexico State University and a PhD in Wildlife Science from the University of Missouri. She has over 20 years of research and management experience on ungulate species including bighorn sheep, bison, elk, pronghorn and white-tailed deer, in a variety of habitats including Rocky Mountain National Park, the Black Hills of South Dakota and the Missouri Ozarks. Barb served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the University of Missouri on the project to restore elk to the Missouri Ozarks, a highlight of her career. She subsequently served as the Elk Biologist and later Cervid Program Supervisor for the Missouri Department of Conservation before leaving Missouri for the Big Game Program Leader position with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, a role she has served since 2019. She lives in the south metro with her partner Tim and enjoys hunting, attempting to ice fish, gardening, and trying to wear out her border collie and other mutt.
